Barkway vs Bookd
Bookd and Barkway both start at £19 a month. Both offer a 30-day free trial, no card required. The useful difference is what that £19 includes, and which plan you would actually need.

At a glance
At £19, Barkway includes up to 75 bookings a month, with core features and team access. Bookd’s £19 Starter includes up to 20 bookings a month. Bookd then publishes £39 for up to 60 bookings, £69 for unlimited bookings and £99 for multiple staff calendars. Figures checked 1 October 2026. Each company defines a booking itself, so treat the volumes as published limits, not an identical unit.

The trade-offs
01 · The £19 plan
Bookd’s published Starter plan is £19 a month for up to 20 bookings. Barkway’s £19 Starter includes up to 75. A groomer needing about 60 bookings a month would be on Bookd Growth at £39, or still on Barkway Starter. These are each company’s published limits.
02 · Team calendars
Barkway includes team access on every published plan. Bookd lists multiple staff calendars on Enterprise at £99 a month.
03 · SMS and deposits
Barkway includes SMS reminders on every plan: 25, 50 or 75 credits a month, and 10 during the trial. Bookd lists SMS reminders from its £39 Growth plan. Both take card deposits through Stripe when a slot is booked.
04 · Where Bookd is ahead
Bookd publishes free self-service data import, Google Calendar sync from Growth, and unlimited bookings on Pro at £69. Those are fair reasons to choose Bookd if they matter more than booking-band and team pricing.
How we compare
Checked 1 October 2026
We build Barkway, so this is not an independent review. Competitor prices and limits are taken from the companies' own published pages and we deliberately include reasons you might prefer them. If something changes, we want to correct it.
Bookd prices shown are its published monthly GBP prices. Bookd also offers annual billing.
