Configure email reminders
Set it and forget it. Barkway can automatically remind clients about upcoming appointments, send a thank-you after payment, and nudge overdue clients to rebook.
All automated communication is email only — SMS isn't available yet.
Configure it
Go to Settings → Communication and set:
- Enable automated communication — master switch (must be on for anything to send).
- Enable booking reminders and Reminder Lead Time (hours).
- Enable thank-you messages and Delay (minutes).
- Enable recall reminders.
Upcoming booking reminders
Cut no-shows with a friendly nudge before the appointment.
- Send time is based on the booking start time and your Reminder lead time (hours).
- If the calculated time is in the past, Barkway sends immediately.
- Editing a booking updates the reminder time instead of creating duplicates.
- Cancelling a booking removes any pending reminder.
Thank-you and invoice link
After a Completed and Paid booking, Barkway can send a short thank-you email including the paid invoice link. It only sends when all of these are true:
- The booking is Completed.
- The invoice is Paid.
- Enable thank-you messages is on.
Send time is based on your Delay (minutes); if that time is already past, it sends immediately. If a paid invoice is later made unpaid (after a refund), pending thank-you emails are removed.
Recall reminders
For pets overdue for a groom — see Send recall nudges.
